To honor the life and accomplishments of Kelly Watt "The Friends of Kelly Watt" will be hosting the 20th Annual Kelly Watt Open. The race of 3200 meters (2 miles) on a grassy trail surface. The proceeds will go to the Kelly Hansen Watt Memorial Scholarship Fund, which is awarded annually to a deserving Albemarle High School student athlete. The race is a way to honor Kelly by running or walking the course where he won his first personal championship.
